After decades of research and experience in live and recorded sound, veteran engineer Taylor Johnson became frustrated with what he saw as outdated electronics and cheap capsule design and manufacture. His vision was to build truly modern microphones with fast-response, ultra-low-noise electronics and new capsules that would be more accurate than the norm and last longer. In 1998, Taylor made a chance connection with the Hohendahl brothers, Andy and Cristian, who had a similar vision of audio excellence. Soon exciting designs for audio electronic circuitry fostered fevered creative research and development. The first test concept microphones were so promising that a year later Taylor Hohendahl Engineering - THEŽ - was born.
